The Summer, the Sea and the Beach

I've been asked the same question so many times:
'Where do you see yourself in five years time?'
So many times in fact, that I always have an answer:
'Lying in the shade on a sandy beach, with a nice drink in one hand and a good book in the other!'

However, I only give this answer to my closest friends; to the others I usually say something 'smart' and appropriate to whatever it is we are talking about. But the truth is - I see myself somewhere far, far away from here... on a beach...
I have always seen myself there and I think I always will- until I reach this goal and fulfill my dreams...

Hmmm... daydreaming is nice, isn't it?

I remember the last time we had a holiday when I was able to read a whole book in peace. And yes, I had my children with me. It was almost seven years ago...
We went to Tunisia and had a marvelous time, despite all the unpleasant things people had told us might be waiting there.

(My youngest and me 'drowning' in the water for more than 10 hours each day)

Although we did many things together, the most memorable time for me, personally, was the time right after lunch. My children were two and a half, and four years old and both still napping after lunch. Well, no wonder...  We were in the water from half past seven in the morning till eleven o'clock when the sun was too hot and they actually needed that rest and, as a good parent, my hubby took a nap with them.

That was my 'ME' time. I was able to take a bottle of juice or soda and a book and relax and read in peace  for almost two hours each day. Bliss!!!
Don't get me wrong - I love my children and I love the times we spend together.

And to be honest, my husband did ask why I didn't take a nap with them, but - oh my god - no way... it was ME time and... well yes, that was the last time I was able to read a book in peace while being on holiday with my children...

Do you really need to ask me again where I see myself in five years time?
